Missouri town clears as gas leak halts evacuees
About 300 residents of Risco Missouri fled their homes after a 42,000 gallon propane leak. Gas repairs delayed return until Friday, though many sought shelter in Malden and nearby towns. The Musical Arts Building in St Louis was destroyed by fire with 175000 to 250000 dollars in damages. Two firemen were slightly injured. The exodus and gas scare dominated local news.
