Why Young Men Pay Higher Automobile Insurance Rates
Insurance companies charge higher auto insurance rates for private passenger cars operated by young men under 25, due to higher accident involvement. Studies show young male drivers in this age group are riskier than older drivers, while young women under 25 are less hazardous. Rates differ by owner status, with unmarried young men facing the highest liability premiums.
