Members of the Frederick County Agricultural Society report a 1934 fair profit of 3942 dollars and elect a new board of managers. They plan for 1935 and discuss using fair grounds for profits beyond the annual event while noting a 172.42 loss from a rodeo. Financial summaries show improved balance and debt reductions, with admissions and premiums key revenue sources.
New York stock action was listless with a narrow fractional range as leaders failed to advance. Improvements appeared in motor, traction and specialty issues while transport bonds remained quiet and commodities dull.
William T. Gue, 56, found beside the tracks near the B and O freight yard with a severely injured left foot. He was rushed to Frederick City Hospital where his leg was amputated below the knee. Conductor John W. Bowers and yard crew witnessed the incident as Gue lay by the tracks after their engine passed. The accident occurred a quarter mile below the freight station on the Hagerstown Frederick connection within city limits. Gue lives on Hamilton avenue and is not railroad staff. authorities think he walked beside the tracks and slipped.

Three Democratic women’s officials from Luzerne and Lackawanna counties were injured in a two car crash on North Market Street extended while Returning from Congressional ceremonies in Washington. Mrs Elen Barrett 48 of West Wilkes Barre suffered bruises and shock. Mrs Margaret Loftus Carbondale bruises to the head. Mrs Frank T White of Dunmore county chairman and Mrs White and Mrs Barrett were in the party. Mrs Barrett was hospitalized to be discharged Sunday. The drivers settled damages themselves with deputy sheriff noting no charges.
More than 200 guests from Hagerstown Emmitsburg Mt Airy Union Bridge and Middletown attended the Frederick chapter Order of Eastern Star installation at the Masonic Temple Friday night. Officers installed include Worthy Matron Edna Himbury Worthy Patron Clifford Yinger and other officers with bouquets presented.
President Roosevelt proposes a 4 billion dollar work relief program to employ 3.5 million unemployed in the coming fiscal year and a total 8 billion dollar budget for ordinary operations, as congressional leaders discuss regulation, the NRA, crime detection, and tax reforms during the transition from dole to jobs for all.
Max sentences of two years imprisonment and a $10000 fine are imposed on four men convicted of conspiring to free Frank Nash, the federal prisoner killed in the Union Station raid. Three women receive probation after fines of $500 each, suspended pending payment by Sept 1 1935. Defendants include Louis Stacci Frank B. Murlay Richard T. Galatas and Herbert A. Farmer with the women Vivian Mathis Mrs Galatas and Mrs Farmer.
Attorney General Cummings reported 3 531 convictions in the fiscal year ended June 30 as part of a broad federal state and local crime fighting effort. He described a nationwide machine to press the attack on major offenders.

A mid winter society wedding was held at Trinity church Ossining NY with Miss Helen Houston of Scarborough on Hudson NY marrying Rufus Smith Frost of Worcester MA. The Very Reverend S Whitney Hale of Buffalo officiated with Rev Gibson W Harris. The reception followed at Wildridge Scarborough on Hudson.
Annapolis Jan 5 AP Deputy Sheriff Foster Co Maynard is seeking two unidentified men who abducted him after seeing a wreck near Jessups. Maynard was driven around the countryside for two hours before being dropped off in Baltimore. A license plate was shown and gunmen forced him into the car. A separate notice reports the sale of Victor Misner and Ida Misner properties near St Anthony's and Garfield cancelled. George R Donne Jr. served as mortgagee and John Dutrow was auctioneer.
The official low fell to 14 degrees with airport readings at 11 at 6 52 am. Forecasters warn the cold wave will continue through the weekend, recalling records from March 25 1934 and December 12 of last year as milk froze on doorsteps and radiators buzzed.

Betty Gow is listed as the first state witness when court reconvenes, with Hopewell’s Harry Wolf following. A Braddock Heights sale scheduled for today has been postponed to January 26.
