Frederick father acquitted in sex abuse case
Frederick County jurors spent under an hour deliberating before acquitting a 32 year old Frederick City man of sexually abusing his six year old daughter five years ago. The accused denied involvement and remained jailed at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center since mid June. Prosecutor Meyers said the child, now 12, testified she was assaulted twice using anatomically correct dolls to show the courtroom what she alleged happened in her father’s bedroom as her family had separated.

Defendent gets 30 years for fatal Frederick shooting
Reginal M. Pertiller, 24, NC native, was sentenced to the maximum term of 30 years after pleading guilty to murder in the April 28 shooting that killed Frederick City resident Kevin Lamont Dotson. Judge William W. Wenner noted the handgun use and Pertiller’s prior crimes. Parrett, cited as accessory, received five years with all but one year suspended.
