Frederick Aldermen vote to favor low bid in copper piping deal

The Board of Aldermen, by a 3 to 2 vote, defeated a move to award to the local Frederick Trading Company over the Crain Company of Baltimore for copper piping. After multiple bids, the low bidder was ultimately accepted, with discussion on local-firm preference and the impact on out-of-town bidders. The meeting covered trucks purchases, a mower bid, street signs, and sidewalk and lighting requests, concluding with an executive session.
