Wohlers Faces Spring Struggles With Control Issues
Atlanta Braves right-hander Mark Wohlers, on his first day of spring workouts in Kissimmee, showed lost control with two hit batters and a high throw. He says his breaking ball and splitter feel fine, but his fastball was off as he works to revive a career that included 97 saves and a 10.18 ERA last season after a dramatic loss of control in Atlanta. He struggled further in Triple-A Richmond with a 20.43 ERA and 36 walks in 12 1-3 innings.

Fox Sports Net keeps Keith Olbermann on air with mixed results
Keith Olbermann joins Fox with high expectations and the same delivery style as SportsCenter. The pairing with Kevin Frazier lacks the Patrick chemistry, yielding modest viewership gains. Fox’s prime time remains below ESPN and CNN SI, while Olbermann’s presence boosts credibility but not ratings. Oscar De La Hoya’s bout draws strong subscriber sales, signaling his cross appeal and HBO leverage.

Whitaker Aims to Upset Trinidad in Welterweight Clash
Pernell Whitaker, 41-2-1 with 17 KOs, doubts his ability to beat undefeated champion Felix Trinidad, noting his age and past drug issues. Trinidad, 33-0 with 28 KOs, defends the title in a high stakes bout likely televised, as Whitaker seeks a second welterweight title amid concerns over form and lifestyle.
