Frederick police arrested 25 year old Jessie Corey Wilson of Walkersville on possession of cocaine after an officer responding to a disorderly conduct call at West and Market streets saw him arguing over a price and he discarded a bag of suspected crack cocaine on the ground before being taken into custody.
National Weather Service forecasters expect rain today through Saturday possibly turning to snow on Saturday. Cloudy conditions give way to partial sun later with a high near 40 and lows between 25 and 30. Wednesday’s high was 53 and low 36. Feb 17 record highs and lows are 73 and 2 respectively.
Jury selection stretched into Thursday in the Frederick County Circuit Court case of Jean Louis Arnaud Nance, one of four defendants charged in the June 1996 killing of Adrian Pilkington. A 32 year old Montgomery County woman was found unconscious in a car stranded in Bennett's Creek by a Frederick County deputy late Monday night. Deputy Kevin Grunwell waded through frigid water to reach her and she was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital. Deputies suspect an overdose of drugs and alcohol.

In Dade City area a theft from Trilby’s Fisher Bee Farm saw 288 honeybee hives stolen last month. The haul amounts to about 14 million bees and a value of roughly $21,000 plus potential honey value around $8,000. Co owners suspect a fellow beekeeper, noting the crime’s bee expertise and seasonal bee shipments from Lewistown to Florida. Bees play a big business in Florida with year round blooms driving pollen and honey production despite a recent bee blight.
Three suspects from Rockville and Washington, D.C. were arrested at Staples on West Seventh Street after loading a shopping cart with computer equipment and attempting to leave. Police recovered the merchandise outside the door and charged Steven Barwick, Bella Lynn Johnson, and Andrewean Withereon with theft over 300 and conspiracy. Johnson and Barwick faced additional drug charges. bail amounts ranged from 40,000 to 150,000, with Montgomery County police assisting.
A Maryland judge denied bail Wednesday for Garrett Eldred Wilson 42, in a case charging him with murdering his infant daughter Brandi Jean Wilson born during his second marriage. Wilson awaits a March 17 preliminary hearing in Prince George County while also facing charges of murdering his son, Garrett Michael Wilson, in 1987 in Montgomery County. both deaths were reclassified from SIDS to homicide by asphyxiation in 1997 following police investigations.
