Grange Seeks bypass and farm aid at Walkersville meeting
Frederick County Pomons Grange met Saturday in Walkersville and passed two resolutions. One urges agricultural deferment under the Selective Service Act and copies were sent to state and national directors and to local boards and Grange bodies. The second requests the State Roads Commission to build a bypass around Frederick to reduce hazardous traffic while keeping some through traffic, with copies sent to state and local officials. The Banner was awarded to Thurmont Grange. Additional routine reports, an agricultural school event in Winchester Hall, and various performances accompanied the program.
