Shortage In Storage Grain In Texas Tops 3.8 Million
A House subcommittee reported Texas shortages in the government grain storage program amounting to 3.82 million dollars. Elevators and warehouses showed 629,305 bushels of wheat and 84,488,300 pounds of grain sorghum missing, with the blame placed on private firms and inspections criticized at the Commodity Credit Corporation. The report, issued with the transcript of hearings, also notes potential Senate scrutiny and ongoing investigations.
