In the Monocacy Area Frederick County, the Girl Scouts invite volunteers to lead troops and attend trainings. Workshops on Christmas crafts ceremonies songs outdoor skills and roundtables are planned with several sessions already filled.
Urban Systems Development Corporation names LE. Larsen as mid Atlantic region manager overseeing marketing and construction for projects in DC, PA, MD, DE, NJ, VA, and WV. Larsen previously led open space development in Columbia Maryland and held roles in Westinghouse Baltimore operations. He holds a UW degree and Maryland graduate studies.
The Frederick Chapter of the Maryland Ornithological Society will host an illustrated talk on hummingbirds at Winchester Hall this evening at 7 30. R Jerry Coates of Frederick will present color slides and share his bird study experiences and his Look Around You program series.
Carroll County YMCA Operating Board elected officers for 1972 led by Chairman S. Ray Hollinger and Vice Chairmen Maryann Nelson and Rev. Harold Helfrich with Barbara Meyers as Secretary. Hollinger appointed chairs for Program W Norris Weis, Personnel Mary Ada Welliver, Finance Larry Caple, Membership Myrtle McCormick, Development Robert McKinney. Next meeting set for Feb 15 at 7 55 p m at the YMCA office 117 E Main St Westminster. Contact Hollinger at 848 6500 to join the board.
The American Cancer Society Maryland Division with the State Health Dept will show a home kit cervical cancer detection film at North Frederick Elementary School Motter Avenue 7 30 p m on Wednesday Feb 9. The event urges yearly checkups and PAP smears for women and mentions a pipette aid for ages 30 to 45.
At a film showing, Constance G. Bloomay, chairman for Frederick City, announces the presentation is free and answers to medical questions will be provided. Women are urged to attend this community event.
