Halifax report says a four engine York airliner operated by Skyways Ltd London with 39 persons aboard sent an SOS from the stormy North Atlantic. Rescue planes and ships rushed to the scene as RC Air Force traced the downed plane about 262 miles east southeast of Gander Newfoundland.
