Pattern of False Alarms Cited in Arson Case
A Germantown man Kevin Kraft, 25, is jailed on 300,000 bond after being charged with two arsons and eight false alarm counts linked to a Martinsburg West Virginia house fire. Prosecutors cited a pattern of fires and fake 911 reports as evidence of ongoing risk.

Republicans push six percent state income tax cut in Maryland
In Annapolis House Republicans introduced a bill to cut personal income taxes by 6 percent statewide, eliminating the 2 percent bracket, raising exemptions by 1000 dollars, and increasing two income household deductions by 400. The measure, backed by the full GOP caucus including Frederick delegates, would save most two income families of four about 240 dollars and a single parent family of four about 220 dollars next year. Governor Glendening weighs timing as federal aid forecasts loom.
