Maryland To Return To Two Plate License System
Maryland plans to restore the two license plate rule for 1955 after tests with a single rear tag proved problematic for enforcement. The new 1954 plates will be black on orange, with renewals mailed to motorists, and display mandatory by March 31 for passenger cars. Some counties may issue plates locally due to courthouse space limits, potentially letting residents obtain tags in Frederick without traveling to Baltimore.
