Senator Weller and Wife Escape Knickerbocker Theatre Disaster
Idailey News reports Senator Weller of Maryland and his wife narrowly avoided a deadly Knickerbocker Theatre roof collapse on a Saturday night. They were invited to dine with Secretary Mellon and attended the usual film showing with Senator Curtis and Mrs. Curtis. The party avoided the collapse by leaving earlier after a rearrangement of seating. Frederick N. Zihm, a Park Inn resident and Knickerbocker regular, also escaped as he chose not to attend that night.
