Man Held On Murder Charge In Montgomery County
Charles Stanley Stull 24 of Silver Spring faces murder and robbery charges after the Dec 23 shooting of Donald Leon Snyder 67 at a Quince Orchard area general merchandise store near Md 28 and Md 124 south of Gaithersburg. Snyder died at Suburban Hospital after the assault. $60 was taken. Stull was arrested at his Silver Spring home and is jailed without bond awaiting a postponed preliminary hearing.

Explosion Mystery Surrounds Christmas Eve Blast
Chief of Police Charles V Main said the explosion that killed Henry King 60 and injured six others remains unexplained. Young Boy Dies In House Fire in Cumberland
In Cumberland a one year old boy named Jeffrey Weisenmiller died of asphyxiation after reentering a burning home to check on family. Father Charles Weisenmiller, 40, carried him to safety but later could not find him inside the smoke filled house. Police say the fire began in the kitchen and its cause remains undetermined. Two other children were outside at the time.
