Agreement allows continued public use of Deep Creek Lake
The state and Pennsylvania Electric Co signed a long term lease allowing the Department of Natural Resources to manage recreational uses at Deep Creek Lake in Garrett County. The deal preserves public access, with DNR regulating fishing speed and docks, while the company’s license requirement ends January 1. Property owners urge a fair fee overhaul to share management costs.
