City Maintains 1.50 Tax Rate for 1955 in Frederick
Frederick City keeps the 1955 real estate tax rate at $1.50 per $100 assessed, matching the current year. The mayor and aldermen approved the budget and levy in a brief special session, with public hearing unattended aside from officials. The $1.50 rate is expected to generate about $1,028,526 in revenue on a $43,005,00 assessable base, funding operating needs and planned capital improvements while avoiding rate hikes or bond issues. The city will publish the full 1955 budget in abstract and make detailed copies available at mayoral or city clerk offices.

Strength For Today by Earl L Douglass 4LL One Here
A reflection on equality in the Christian Church noting that under its roof all people are equal beyond class and status. It recalls a Duke who urged a kneeling soldier to join in communion with the line We are all one here. The piece cites God s mercy wisdom and forgiveness as universal. The Colony of New York population figure appears as a historical note.
