Old B & O Station at Washington Grove to Close

The Baltimore and Ohio station at Washington Grove, active since 1872, will close with the end of the day December 31, though trains on the Metropolitan Branch will continue. The waiting room stays open for a time, and staff will transfer operations to Gaithersburg. Passenger and freight needs will consolidate, and the station may be turned over to a group or demolished if no interest arises.
