Reward Paid In Brunswick Robbery Case
Edwin F. Nikirk, attorney for Dr. G. Thomas Strother of Brunswick, said he paid a $1,000 reward to an undisclosed recipient for the November 10 theft of $20,100 cash, jewelry, stock and valuables from the doctor's home. The recipient’s name is being withheld for security, with Capt. Charles W Magaha of the Maryland State Police aware of the payment. The case also involves the Baltimore suspects Elwood D. Rice and John Henry Beardsworth, and proceeds from the robbery were recovered in part in Baltimore.

Retired Rural Carrier Now I Finds He Has Time On Hands
Emory F. Stottlemyer of Thurmont retired October 31 after 36 years as a rural mail carrier for RFD 1 Thurmont. He never used sick leave in 32 years of eligibility and recalls starting with a 24 mile route later stretched to 47 miles. He kept about two dozen sheep, drove RFD wagons, horses, and cars, and served 460 boxes for around 480 families. He plans travel and church work, noting he has crossed the United States seven times and visited all states except North Dakota. The News-Post could not confirm North Dakota visit.
