Truck Train Camps In City On Way To North Carolina
A convoy of army trucks totaling about 100 vehicles arrived in Fredericksburg on route from Camp Knox Kentucky to Camp Bragg North Carolina. The train included eight trucks and many motorcycles with over 200 enlisted men and 11 officers led by Maj Miller. The trip faced bad Kentucky roads and continual rain snow and sleet. One fatal crash near Norwich occurred about a week earlier. The long journey began December 1 and should reach North Carolina in early January. The convoy passed through Columbus Ohio and Cumberland.
