The Philadelphia and Reading Railway Company posted notices today proposing wage reductions for maintenance of way employees from five to fifteen cents per hour. Conferences will be held to fix the new rate.
A grand jury indicts individuals on charges of larceny and bribery related to a theatre scandal. The proceedings reveal alleged illicit concessions on submarine contracts, with officials and parties named in the case.

The Associated Press reports President Harding believes the four power Pacific Treaty covers only Pacific island possessions and not the main Japanese Empire. He holds the view differs from official delegation spokesmen who said the treaty also covers Japan proper according to White House statements.
New York December 20 Burns of the Bureau of Investigation said disclosures by Wolfe Lindenfeld now under arrest in Warsaw will clear the Wall Street explosion case. Burns came to New York Saturday to pursue the story and said Lindenfeld’s account is a link in the evidence gathered.
