Mother Ends Life Months After Daughter Dies
Heartbroken Mrs. Rose Hamilton near Mt. Pleasant shot herself with the same gun used by her daughter Margaret Elizabeth Hamilton who died in October. The tragedy follows the daughter’s death and family distress as authorities opened the scene and ruled death a suicide from a self inflicted gunshot wound. Mrs. Hamilton, 51, was active in church and community groups and is survived by her husband and two sons. Funeral arrangements set for Monday at 2 PM with services at Union Chapel.

Knoxville Beer Brawl Leads to Two Arrests
In Knoxville a Friday night disturbance at G. W. Moore’s beer hall led to the arrest of Raymond Stevens and Charles Hill both of Knoxville on assault and battery charges. Stevens surrendered at the jail and obtained warrants against Moore and his brother Thomas for assault and battery. Stevens and Hill were treated for head injuries at local clinics after the incident, which officials say occurred around 10 p.m. Moore allegedly used a baseball bat and gun to eject the men, and Stevens accuses Moore of assault with intent to kill. Both suspects face court action in Police Court tonight.
