Father Slain On Sumner Wood Farm Moonlit Farm Tragedy

In Montgomery County, Benjamin Lee Slack 18 allegedly drank and shot his father Robert Elmer Slack 45 with a 12 gauge in a Tuesday afternoon argument on the Sum ner Wood farm between Darnestown and Seneca. He was captured and jailed to face murder charges. Brooks Wood 14 and Getavia Wood 9 escaped to safety as Larry Slack 15 disarmed the weapon. The body was taken to Gartner funeral home in Gaithersburg for arrangements.

Funeral Uncertainty Looms After Farm Shooting

Police expect to serve a murder charge warrant today against the shooting incident on a Rockville farm owned by Mr. Wood, a prominent attorney. In Baltimore, December 13, 263 bottles of whisky were distributed by youths in a bucket brigade style after smashing a store window, observed by bystander James Newborn who fled for help. The suspects and the liquor disappeared before officers could apprehend them.
