SRC Clears Issue On Main City Streets
The State Roads Commission states that Frederick City’s Market and Patrick streets are state maintained while policing, garbage collection, sweeping and snow removal are city duties. An agreement from 1946 or 1947 covers this split, with city funding coming from parking fees but no direct state aid. City Engineer Robert A. Whiteford criticizes state tax money distribution, while SRC notes aid is limited to non state tax funded roads.
