Marriage Of Girl 15 Annulled In Equity Court
A divorce-like ruling nullified the 1941 Washington wedding of Hermine Paxson, 15, to Aubrey German, 17, on grounds of fraud and lack of consent. The court permitted the girl to resume her maiden name after her claim that the ceremony was a childish prank and that alcohol impaired her judgment. The defendant ignored the union for two years, and costs were assigned to the complainant.
