Dump owner convicted in 1 95 fire catastrophe case
The owner Daniel Carr and his son in law Gerald Laarz were convicted of risking a catastrophe after a March fire at a tire dump near I-95 in Philadelphia. Prosecutors say 300,000 tires were piled illegally, causing 86 million in damage and a weeklong highway closure. Sentencing in January faces up to 15 years.

Youth charged with hijacking at Frederick hospital
A 16 year old was arrested Monday and charged with attempted carjacking disorderly intoxication robbery and second degree assault. Frederick Police say he tried to carjack Vivian Howard in the hospital parking lot and was detained by hospital security and Officer Alston after fleeing Safeway. The victim identified him and he was placed in a juvenile detention center. Another attempted carjacking in the hospital parking lot is being investigated and police seek tips from the public.

Brian James Reynolds, 24, of Dillsburg Pennsylvania, was stopped on U.S. 15 at Biggs Ford Road for speeding.
