Local Man Held As Hit Run Driver
Willie Whetzel of Clarke Place faces manslaughter by automobile and related charges after a weekend pedestrian fatality. The 40 year old was arrested by State Police with bond set at 1500 dollars following the death of Owen Homer Fawley, 68, on Route 240 near Green Valley Inn. Fawley, a Lovettsville native and farmer, was walking along the highway shoulder when struck. his body was found by a passerby. A Germantown man was found guilty of drunken driving before Magistrate Wilbur F. SheMeld Jr in Peaptes Court and fined 150 plus costs. A 25 fine was given on a reckless driving charge.
