Habitat for Humanity hires Frederick County executive director

Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County names Ladd Bower as its first executive director amid plans to build three duplexes in Frederick city. Bower, from Hughes Network Systems, will lead volunteer recruitment and corporate liaison efforts while the group expands from nine homes built in three years to at least six more. The project to obtain land, utilities, and permits hinges on a mix of private funding and church support, with early backing totaling about 136 000 dollars plus in kind help.
