Local Schools Test New Report Card System
A revised report card system was piloted in public schools, expanding beyond scholastic progress to include personal attitudes and habits. The system, described as an improvement over the old cards, rates students on initiative self control courtesy and other traits while still reflecting classroom performance. Some support the changes while others oppose them. An arson investigation and a separate suspicious blaze at nearby schools added to a tense weekend in the district.
