Col Clendenin resigns UGF post. Mrs Linthicum named director
Col Richard M. Clendenin resigns as executive director of Frederick's United Givers Fund effective immediately. The UGF board unanimously elected Mrs Marie Linthicum, secretary since 1965, to succeed him. Linthicum is Mt Airy born, has two children, and previously worked for the Social Security Administration and the Montgomery County Board of Education. Clendenin, a California native, served in the Army and spent three years in Europe, two in Korea and Japan, with a Pentagon posting before leading UGF since 1968. He and his wife have two grown children in New York and California and plan travel in the future.
