Regents OK 15 percent tuition hike across Maryland system
The University of Maryland Board of Regents approved a 15 percent tuition increase for state universities and colleges starting next January adding about 150 dollars to each bill plus a 7.5 percent surcharge at the Baltimore professional schools. A 4 percent rise begins in 1992 with potential further hikes if state revenue remains weak. The plan accompanies campus consolidations and program mergers, with final approvals by the General Assembly.
