Covered bridge reopened after farm vehicle crash

The Ulueca Covered Bridge near Lewistown reopened Friday after a farm wagon exceeding the 12 foot clearance damaged it two days earlier. Frederick County crews replaced three beams, with cosmetic siding to be finished Monday.

Escaped convicts halted in gun battle at dealership

Two escaped inmates suspected in a double murder briefly held a hostage at Petersburg Motor Co in West Virginia before a firearm clash with deputies. Joe Hottle, 20, was flown to a Cumberland hospital after gunfire wounded him and the hostage. Crag Swick, 23, is jailed on two first degree murder counts in Grant County.
