Frederick County commissioners spent nearly 70000 to renovate a 167 acre property at Md 355 and Md 90 near the Cracked Claw restaurant to serve as a potential community center. Earl and Marie Nicholson, both 65, would lease the usable home at 3301 Urbana Pike and care for about 100 county acres as part of the deal set around the planned Urbana High School site. The house, previously uninhabitable, will be fixed up with new siding, updated windows, repainted interior, and insulation. The project supports a future site for a state highway department and a public library while the school opens in 1995 for 1200 students.
