County OKs TV tower near Monocacy Battlefield
The Frederick County Board of Appeals approved a 290 foot television tower near the Monocacy National Battlefield for WIHU Thurmont owner Michael Bader to broadcast WHAG to county residents. Opponents warned the tower would mar the battlefield and could pave the way for more towers while supporters said it would provide needed service. National Park Service officials warned they might appeal.
