Frederick county election officials have begun preparations for the September 14 primary. The Board of Supervisors of Elections announced a 306 member workforce across 61 precincts in 26 districts, with registration day set for September 7. Negro Woman Jailed for Theft of Watch
A wrist watch allegedly stolen last June was recovered by Deputy Sheriff Horace Radcliffe and Mark Jenkins, 28, in Brewer's alley. The woman, identified as a suspect by Alice Ambush, was remanded to jail in default of 200 bond after a Police Court hearing before Justice Guy K. Motter to await grand jury action. The watch, stolen at Bartonsville, had been sought since June. the suspect seen wearing it at a local canning factory was arrested, and jeweler records confirmed the purchase.

Work began today on a new bridge over Carroll Creek in Brewer's Alley Frederick the project split into three structures with a 30 by 40 feet East Patrick Street bridge to replace the current span a concrete steel design with a 40 foot driveway and sidewalks four lamp posts and electric lights at the corners to enhance the eastern Frederick entrance. A temporary 18 foot wooden bridge will serve traffic during construction with a 10 man crew growing to 30 to 35 and lumber arriving for the temporary span while costs are shared by the city and state.
