Last Great Buffalo Hunt on Antelope Island
On Antelope Island in Great Salt Lake a herd of 350 wild buffaloes faces a November hunt by sportsmen. About 330 will be killed, leaving 20 to repopulate later. Ownership lies with A H Leonard of Fort Pierre. The hunt, requiring skilled riding and long shots, draws protests from Utah residents fearing cruelty and extinction of the wild herd.
