Man Killed as Tractor Trailer Broadsides Car on Route 40
William Nelson Keller, 23, of Buckeystown, died when his Ford was struck broadside by a loaded tractor trailer at Jug Bridge on Route 40. Truck from Super Service of Nashville, Tenn. Keller served overseas with the U S Army including Korea duty. He belonged to Buckeystown Methodist Church and Izaak Walton League. Survived by parents and several siblings. Funeral arrangements set for Thursday at 2 PM at M R Etchison and Son Funeral Directors.

They were among twelve Marylanders who landed in San Francisco aboard the transport Walker. Saylor and Banks said they received fair treatment but complained about insufficient food.

Sleeps After Long Stay On 14th Floor Ledge
A Navy veteran Sidney Herman who spent 13 hours 17 minutes threatening to jump from a 14th floor hospital ledge slept through much of yesterday after rescue. He was resting well at the Brooklyn Veterans Administration hospital and responding to treatment for a stomach ulcer and anxiety neuroses following a stand that drew thousands.

The Board of Aldermen at a special City Hall session banned hose sprinkling of lawns trees gardens and shrubbery hose washing of pavements and washing of automobiles. The 24 hour ban follows a record water use framed by William J. Davis showing 4 418 000 gallons on Friday surpassing the July 1952 record. FREEDOM VILLAGE Korea 1-A sergeant Panco recalls the last sighting of Maj. Gen. William Dean, commander of the U S 24th Division, in Taejon on July 20, 1950, as he rode a jeep with a bazooka chasing a tank before Panco was captured the next day. There has been no word on his release in the Korean War prisoner exchange.
