Weinberg House Opens In Frederick For Elderly Housing
The 23 unit four story Weinberg House at 22 Broadway Frederick opened August 15 with a ribbon cutting attended by many groups. Western Maryland Interfaith Housing Development Corp led the effort aiming to replace substandard housing for 12,000 area households and shelter poverty for 30,000 across five counties. Ground breaking for Bell Court, a 28 unit one bedroom project in Woodsboro, also occurred August 15 with five more units planned. The buildings are modest but clean, bright, and provide safe, well managed affordable housing, according to supporters.
