Rain Delay Halts Blue Ridge League Action Again
Rain kept all six Blue Ridge clubs idle for a fifth straight day, depleting treasuries and delaying a crowded schedule. Frederick still led the standings with a four point edge over Werremen as Wayne, Chambersburg, Hanover, and Martinsburg prepared for a sequence of doubleheaders. Financial losses mounted for clubs, while player moves included Johnny Garthright’s release from Hanover and Tommy Thompson’s continued pitching for Cumberland in the Middle Atlantic League.
