Utica Picnic Ties On Feedbag In A Big Way
Utica picnic, in its 141st year, drew 800 plus attendees to Miller's Woods Lewistown over 25 acres for meals feeding 1000 pounds of chicken and dozens of gallons of sides. Proceeds benefit St Pauls Lutheran Church Sunday school Utica. Volunteers total 50. event features hay rides band and games.

Point of Rocks Celebrates Founders Day Parade
Point of Rocks marked Founder's Day with a Sunday parade from the MARC station to the community center. About 600 residents watched the color guard, Brunswick High Band, antique cars, fire trucks, scouts and floats pass by. At the center, games, bingo, auctions and cake auctions were held as a fundraiser, with founders’ date noted as August 20, 1847.

Rally boosts funds for Loy's Station covered bridge repair
Civic activists gathered at Loy's Station Park to back restoring the 1850 Loy's Station covered bridge damaged by a June fire. About 75 to 100 attendees purchased food, raised funds via paintings auction, and pressed officials to restore the span for buses and emergency vehicles.

AOPA Hosts Weekend Fly In At Frederick Airport
Pilots from the mid Atlantic turned out for an open house at the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association in Frederick Maryland. The event featured seminars on FAA rules collision avoidance and safety with product demonstrations of navigation systems and aircraft. AOPA president Phil Boyer said the goal was to show members the building and programs while weekend access had been rare. Cheri Farha noted strong turnout from pilots and that the event attracted attendees from several states.
