Australian sister advocates polio treatment claims
The Australian sister contends polio can affect any muscle or organ, challenging the view that it confines to the central nervous system. She says she never claimed a cure for infantile paralysis but notes patients who recovered under her care escaped twisted limbs after applying thick hot packs and receiving nursing care. She expresses no grudge toward doctors who know little of her discoveries. Timber cut on national forests in the first quarter rose 50 percent from 1950.
