New Catoctin Creek Bridge Planned in Frederick County

Frederick County Commissioners plan a joint state county project for a new 200 foot bridge over Catoctin Creek on the Jefferson Broad Run road. The State Roads Commission will fund a $35,000 western approach and federal aid may cover unused funds, with the county financing the bridge itself pending rights of way and material conditions. The present five ton bridge is obsolete, and relocation will require coordination to fit relocated approaches and eliminate a dangerous curve.
