World radio parley 1979 set in Geneva for spectrum needs
The Geneva conference will gather over 100 countries in late 1979 to debate radio spectrum requirements. The FCC will present US policies on CB U and mobile and ham radio, with a Fifth Notice inviting public comments. Shifts toward 900 MHz could add about 400 CB channels, boost personal radio use, and push single sideband to replace AM, with stricter power limits abroad.
