Mars rock life claim faces independent questioning
Geochemist Jim Papike and colleagues from the University of New Mexico tested the 4.4 pound meteorite and its pyrite for sulfur isotope ratios linked to life. They found no evidence of a life signature and caution that independent studies are needed while NASA's findings remain to be confirmed or disputed.
