Hood College near Blue Ridge in new campus plan
Hood College marks seven years since moving to its current site with the opening of an eighth building a new dormitory and dining hall ready by September 29. The campus forms a quadrangle with Alumnae Hall Shriner Hall and the new dormitory, housing about 140 students on three floors and a 600-seat dining room. Future buildings may include an astronomical observatory and gymnasium. Hood has expanded to 9 1/2 acres near the Blue Ridge foothills, with labor disputes delaying some plaster work.
