Roosevelt May Appoint Supreme Court Justice Soon
President Roosevelt said he could appoint a Supreme Court justice and might do so before the Senate adjourns. He noted he has the power to act now or later, and declined to preview the nomination before it goes to the Senate. He avoided specifics on timing and spoke of Constitution Day without committing to details.

Old Kentucky dream home rebuilt after cave in
Barkleys purchase their old Kentucky dream home as a cave in formed by an underground spring. The hole filled with water and a culvert-like gap opened on the east side, eroding ground and dropping the top surface. Residents recall no creek in that direction. The Thurmont carnival opens with a full week of events led by a Friday street parade and prize contests, plus live shows and chicken dinners.

Do Not Dampen Clothes During Summer Ironing
Do not dampen clothes too far in a dance for summer ironing. They mildew much more readily in warm weather than in winter. If the ironing has to be postponed, carefully shake out all damp articles to dry. They may easily be resprinkled.
