Third Drunken Driving Charge Put On Record
The third drunken driving charge of the past two days was entered at Tolice Headquarters at 11.30 o'clock Monday night as officers arrested Bradley Denamare, 176 West All Saints street. The arrest was made near Dentmore's home by Officers Frank Dorsey and Reno Six. The defendant posted $100 and costs collateral and went to jail for a Police Court hearing tonight. A disorderly conduct charge was entered Monday evening against Guy Bartholow of Five and a Hall street. Bartholow could not post $100 collateral and went to jail early this morning. William Cannan was jailed lacking collateral on a drunkenness charge brought by Officer Straley. Carl Bell, arrested at 9.20 this morning by Officers Alexander and Bell for drunkenness and disorder, went to jail for lack of $25 bond.

Washington August 3 AP Both John L Lewis and the American Federation of Labor reported advances in the battle for supremacy in organized labor. The CIO bulletin said unions signed contracts in six weeks covering 23 000 workers in the Ohio valley with no strikes. The Textile Workers Organizing Committee a CIO subsidiary reported gains in the South. The AFL said textile workers in parts of South Carolina sought court help to break CIO dominance. A year earlier the AFL council voted to suspend CIO unions for forming a dual organization.
