Man Shot by Officer After Aiming Gun at Frederick Cop
Frederick man Charles E. Heffner Jr. was shot and killed by city officer Edward R. Kornacki after Heffner aimed a gun at the policeman in the 400 block of North Bentz Street. Heffner, 45, died at 3:27 am at R Adams Cowley Trauma Center in Baltimore. A neighbor described Heffner as despondent amid a divorce. Kornacki is on administrative leave pending investigation.
