Francis Scott Key Hotel named for Frederick county native
The Frederick Hotel Company board selected Francis Scott Key as the new hotel name in honor of the author of the national anthem. They leased the property to John S. Hershey of Philadelphia for 12 years with a 6 percent minimum rental of final cost plus profit sharing after expenses. The lease includes a $15,000 cash deposit as collateral and allows a future eight year renewal by mutual agreement.
