Ray Ray autopsy says liver failure killed him while awaiting King trial
The liver transplant Ray sought could have extended his life to pursue a King murder retrial, says Dr Cyril Wecht who observed the autopsy for Ray's family. The report notes chronic hepatitis caused cirrhosis and deaths after 16 months of deteriorating health. officials say a 1981 blood transfusion might relate to hepatitis. The funeral will be led by Rev James Lawson, with King family members present, amid ongoing beliefs by Lawson and others that Ray was not the sole killer.
